Description

Take a break from Finals Week’s rush with our new Sensory Rooms, open from December 2 to December 12! These calm spaces are designed to offer students, faculty and staff a quiet retreat to recharge, relax and refocus.

Locations:

📍 Denton: Jones Hall, Room 110, Open during office hours: 8:00AM-5:00PM.
📍 Denton: Library Basement, Nap Pod Room (Student ID required for access)
📍 Dallas and Houston: Library Nap Pod areas (Student ID required for access)

Description:

Both rooms feature dim lighting, soothing music and a variety of fidget tools, creating the perfect environment for a sensory break. Open to all students, faculty and staff—come by and discover your space to unwind!

How to use this space:

  • A Quiet Space: This space is ideal for relaxing and recharging. 

  • Adjust Sensory Input: Feel free to control lighting, music, and seating as desired.

  • Occupancy Limits:

    •     Nap Pod Room – One person at a time for a truly personal recharge.

    •     Jones Hall Room – Accommodates up to three people to allow small groups to relax together.

  • Engage with Tools Mindfully: Use the available fidget tools to help focus and de-stress.

  • Respect Others' Space: If others are present, keep noise and movement minimal.

  • Duration: Spend as much or as little time as you need but be mindful of others waiting.
